Kim, 22

I'm on almost every day unless I'm up north at the family cottage during the summer, or work (whenever I can find it) gets busy/tiring.

How many guilds in seven years... oh boy. Oakleaf, Eternia, Hieratic, Asylium, Pulse, Stark, Sosarians, JPpride, Validus, Mugen, Gangnam, Denied... that's all I can remember. Most wither got quiet, or people got into arguements and I left because I didn't want to put up with drama.

No drama policy. I'm tired of putting up with immaturity and pointless arguements.

I would imagine Tairiku and Rikkusa would vouch. Tai was the one who mentioned I should apply a few months ago.

I've allowed this game to sucker me in for seven years.

What kind of skills/accomplishment do you have?:
On and off RA, r1 refining/carp, I'm not completely useless in combat (or at least, I like to think).

Hello Lauraine- Thank you for your application. I just need to ask a few things first to validate this application, 1. please post your talent window picture and 2. please try to contact at least 1 of the people mentioned under referrals as they do have to make a post to verify they will refer you for this process.

As for questions I guess the most obvious would be the concern that you have been in a lot of guilds it seems and though you stated you left most for drama could any of those been prevented or worked out differently then just leaving?

What do you feel a guild is? and how would you describe your ideal guild?

Lastly for now- We are close and do try to make bonds/grow together, however Dreams has had its name related with elitism and drama in the past- if someone were to bring that up or hold against you, how would you deal with this drama? And is that something to be cause enough for you to leave the guild?

That is all for now ^^. Good Luck.

Hi, Kim.

I just have a couple questions:

1). Would you consider yourself active? If so, what are you usually doing when you're online?

2). Do you like to AFK in-game a lot?

3). What is your favorite combat/support class in the game and why?

Good luck.

Post  Lauraine 23/04/15, 03:12 pm

I'd say I'm active. I do the dailies mostly everyday, and I've been going crusader runs with Kenohei's group almost every night for about three and a half to four months. I check to see who's online and I will pm them if I'm close to them (ask Tai, the convos we get into at times... oh boy, we're quite the pair at times!). I use a laptop, so I don't leave the game running when I'm not playing for long period of time (maybe if I pop out for an hour or two at most). I'm a college grad with a degree in radio, television and film, and am currently unemployed, so I'm on a lot. I just try to keep a fairly low profile to not drag too much (especially unwanted attention, I'm sure you all know what I mean) to myself.

When I started playing, I immediately took to the magic skills, but I bounce around depending on what I'm running (blue ring requirements, enemy weaknesses), or based off of rebalances (like yesterday's close combat revamp). However, I have a r1 reforge hlb ego that's almost maxed out, and reforged for range +19 distance, so I can stay further back and let people go wild. I have a full SS/Mag bohemian set to stack with it.

I play the game to get away from the stress of real life. I mean, silly banter is okay, but when I see people cursing each other out, bringing up personal information against one another, etc., on a regular basis, enough is enough. I don't handle lots of stress well and am on medications for it, but I try to avoid serious social conflict when possible as it's caused panic attacks in the past. Since I had to re-adjust almost everything in my life two years ago, these have stopped, and I don't want to start getting pulled down again.

I feel a guild is meant to be a group of people who work productively and interact socially together in order to keep each other company, help one another advance and learn in the game, and flat out have a good time doing so. Have some laughs, silly moments, typical things you'd expect from friends.

I try not to act as an elite player, I don't think I consider myself one, but a fairly knowledgeable one. If someone makes a statement about my suggestion (I tend to say "I think" or "I'd guess" rather than make it sound like a complete fact, because at the end of the day, I'm human and I can make mistakes) I'd either say something like "But isn't ...." or "I thought that..." to avoid starting an argument. Tons of them can be easily avoided depending on how you choose your word selection. And I don't think it would be enough to make me leave, it's more when people get personal and gossip or bully, issues like that.

Hello Lauraine!

Thanks for applying to Dreams ^^.

I can relate to the panic attacks and I believe what you are referring to is speaking in an assertive way. Assertiveness is a very admirable quality. An assertive person is able to affectively convey their opinions without alienating others in the process. They are neither aggressive nor passive. It is a wonderful trait to have!

I have a few questions for you.

We are a lively bunch but sometimes things get quiet and it can be difficult to synch up schedules to achieve things together at times.

When others are not around to do things with, what sort of things would occupy your time on Mabinogi?

Do you do a lot of things solo or mostly in a group setting?

This last question is just to get a feel for your personality.

Can you mention a time or times when you helped someone with something specific in the game and how the outcome made you feel?

That's all!

Good-luck with your application!

Hello and welcome to the Dreams application process!

I know you said you you don't like drama and stay away from it. Dreams has a bit of history and sometimes that history follows us around. If someone reacts to the guild name over your head, how would you handle it?

Besides Tair talking you into it, anything else that strikes your fancy about Dreams?

Do you tend to be a helper or a beggar?

That's all the questions for now, good luck!

Begging isn't my sort of thing. I may do so for a joke, but I make it very obvious that I'm kidding around.

I prefer running things in a group, but lately I've been doing dailies on my own and it's getting to be a chore.

I've done lots of generations finals for people, when I see a player get all excited about finally finishing a mainstream quest line, it's an awesome feeling. Or, when I sell something to someone who was dying for whatever I exchanged with them. If they're polite, patient, etc., I tend to go a bit easier on them and seeing that excitement as well really makes my day.

I've been finding it hard to keep myself occupied lately, I do events, dailies, but I've been doing so mostly on my own, and that's another reason why I'm applying for Dreams. Hopefully that answers a few questions from multiple people xP

It's a monitored community and there appears to be a lot of trust between members and ambition to actually participate with one another. I also like the application process, people aren't going to continue to answer questions and bother unless they want to be there.

How do you feel about people who have blunt responses?

Dear Lauraine,

Firstly, I'd like to thank you for expressing a interest in joining dreams, I remember when I first stumbled upon you several years back, to found out If I was a year or two older we'd of attended the same school -
It takes me back just thinking about it honestly.

However, I must put aside my sheer joy to see your name on our applications list to ask you a question or two;

I noticed for a long time, You seemed to be a very open minded, and open-hearted person, My first question is simple; Would you consider yourself to still be that kind of person, Or has time slowly caused you to change?

And as for my second question; Since most people keep the application to in-game related content, I'm going to stick my head outside the box and ask you - Over the years I've noticed you've been on less, which is a given as we all grow up; Whats been keeping your focus? - This question can be completely dodged if you don't wish to talk about it, I understand keeping ones personal life secretive given situations.

-INocturne.

I apologize for the late response this time, I just got hired for a new job on Saturday and have been training for it all week! Well be in training until I have my first full shift on Sunday. I let Keo know a few days ago, that I got a new position.

I think I'm still open minded and open hearted. I do tend to be an open ear for those who need a shoulder to lean on or advice a lot, both in game and in real life.

My inactivity is usually based on things like work (starting a new job like I did this week), I had a few internships, I had college exams (that I don't miss anymore!). My family also owns a cottage that we go up to for a week or so here and there during the summer, but because of my job, I probably won't be able to go up very often, if at all this year.

If I had to describe myself in one word, I'd have to say honest. I believe in the "honesty is the best policy" route. Honesty can get you in trouble, but you shouldn't feel guilty about coming clean about something you did or were involved with, and if you are, you didn't think them out enough before you made your decision.

I should probably mention where I just got that job, even if it seems lame xP I got hired as a photographer for Photos Unlimited, that's the company that has partnership with Sears and Walmart and does the passport/ID photos and has the studio for portraits.

Side note: Doing passport photos for two week old babies is harder than I thought. They don't want to stay awake!

And just to be clear; I meant the job may sound lame as in compared to people in medical, or teaching, or engineering... I get odd expressions from people sometimes when I tell them what I do. I love the job personally, but it's easy to feel that people don't realize how much hard work goes into photography.

And when people are blunt, I try reasoning with them for a bit, but if I know there's no dealing with them, I say flat out say as such, and stop wasting my time and effort on talking to a brick wall.

I totally get where you're coming from. A long time ago when I worked for Shopper's Drug Mart as a manager I had to take over the photography counter many times and do many passport photos as a part of it. The manager of the department was in the process of teaching me all that goes into it and it is a lot if you really dedicate yourself to it.

It's nothing for people to think that people doing that kind of work only have to sit there and watch the pictures print. However, it's a lot more than that. There's editing, knowing the correct format, lighting, what people should wear and how they need to look, etc, etc, etc. (especially with passport photos because they are sooooooo picky about what's acceptable). A friend of mine actually used to do the same type of job as well so I get where you're coming from. There's a lot of elements to it, more then people realize. We never know until we walk a mile in another person's shoes!

Just keep on keeping on and you'll do great! Smile!
